19. 32

I’d like to start this poem by stating what I don’t intend to do this year:

I won’t buy any more trading cards, unless I am really compelled

I will not delegate my dating life to a phone application, unless someone convinces me

I will not doubt my calling or despair if I don’t get a job, unless I don’t have one

I won’t move 1,000 miles away in hopes to find love, unless it finds me

I’d like to pause this poem to tell you on my birthday 32 years ago Andre the Giant beat Hulk Hogan for the WWF Title and sold it to The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase.

I’d like to continue this poem by stating what I intend to do this year:

Spend time with my family in their hardship

Continue to celebrate my cat

Read and write more poetry

Only take salvation seriously and lightening the burden by letting sin die

Rest days

I’d like to finish this poem by stating what I hope for this year:

Courageous optimism

Confidence in the Lord’s delight of me

Maturing Romance

Excessive Grace and Mercy

I’d like to sign this poem to my friends and family this last year:

You’ve truly kept me.

**I wrote this poem February 4th way back there in the times before a pandemic.
